Mette is a Danish-born Canadian artist who lives in Kanata, Ontario.
Metta has shown her paintings at many shows around the world - many times in solo-shows - in her native Denmark, as well as Greenland, U.S.A., Australia, and of course at her home in Canada.
Some years ago she started having her original paintings transferred to different fine fabrics. She has since developed this into a line of lovely designs of both clothing, accessories, and housewares stretching from scarves to jackets and dresses, from tablecloths to aprons and tea towels and much more. She is regularly showing both her paintings and art-textiles in studio-tours and local shows.
Mette has continued to paint both flowers and landscapes in all seasons - mainly in her favourite medium: oil on canvas. She teaches weekly classes in her own studio. She enjoys painting both “plein air” and in her studio based on her photos as inspiration. Though the beautiful varied colours of flowers never cease to inspire her, the lovely play of light in our varied landscapes all year round certainly compete as inspiration for her.
